Just imagine almost 190 miles of beaches to explore, and all of them surrounded by scenic greenery of the South Carolina gardens, the historic feel of the plantations, and the mix of cultures you wouldn’t believe still existed. South Carolina is the time machine back to the days of lush muslin dresses with thin waists, light felt hats and gentlemanly manners.
Columbia and Charleston are the biggest cities, and also most packed with a variety of tourist attractions, from historic sites to art venues. Domtar, SCANA, Sonoco Products, and Boeing are the state’s most notable employers. The largest, flagship school is the University of South Carolina – choose one of its seven campuses.
