Sponsor Details

The only sponsor of the Rentberry Scholarship Program is Rentberry, Inc., located 201 Spear Street, Suite 1100, San Francisco, CA 94105.

How to Participate

Students may apply for the Rentberry Scholarship starting from August 1, 2018 12:00 AM EST to June 1, 2019, 11:59 PM EST by submitting a complete application form to Rentberry. To be considered, an application must include an original article about the neighborhood the participant was born and raised in as well as personal images of the neighborhood. The same participant is not allowed to submit more than one article. Rentberry holds no responsibility for possible technical errors that might cause late submission or inadmissible entry.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate or win the contest, one must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the US. Employees of Rentberry, as well as members of their households and families, are not allowed to participate.

Winner Selection

The Rentberry’s Contest Committee will review each submitted application and evaluate them based on the overall quality of the submitted material. The Contest Committee will focus on the following selection criteria:

  • How creative and original is the article?
  • Does it provide enough in-depth knowledge of participant’s neighborhood?
  • Is the article well-written in terms of grammar, punctuation, voice and tone.

All shortlisted articles will then be published on Rentberry’s blog and social networks, and semi-finalist will have to compete with each other in a number of social engagements (likes, shares, and comments) for their article. A participant with the biggest number of engagements as of the end of the contest (June 25, 2019) will be awarded $1,000.

Prohibited content

All submitted articles must be the original work that belongs to the participant. Articles that violate the intellectual or property rights of other parties will be disqualified. Submitted articles must not contain any of the following:

  • Commercial or advertising content of any forms
  • Content that either promotes or endorses illegal activities
  • Objectionable materials of any sorts, including vulgar, obscene, violent, profane, etc.
  • Adult materials

The Rentberry’s Contest Committee reserves the right to reject articles violating the above-mentioned terms as well as articles that appear inappropriate for any other reason not outlined in the terms and conditions.

License

Rentberry gets a royalty-free, unrestricted, exclusive, and perpetual license to display, publish, distribute, reproduce, and transmit the articles and additional materials such as photos, name, biographical information submitted by participants in any media either with or without modifications. By submitting the application, participants grant Rentberry with the right to use materials from their applications for all reasonable and adequate purposes.

Prize

The prize of $1000 will be awarded to the participant with the greatest number of engagements in social networks as of the end of the contest term. The prize will be awarded in the form of [clarification needed] To receive the scholarship, a successful participant will have to provide a proof of identity. A failure to do so will be considered a violation of Program Rules and the prize will be awarded to the participant with the second best result. No transfer of prize initiated by the winner is permitted.

Announcement of Results

Rentberry will publicly announce the winner on its Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RentberryInc/) page within a week after the end of the contest. The winner will also be personally notified via email. In case the winner fails to respond within five business days, the scholarship will be awarded to the participant with the second best result.

Disputes and Interpretations

Participants must understand that all decisions of the Rentberry’s Contest Committee are final and binding. By submitting the application, participants agree to be bound by the Program Rules.
