The Stewart House is a large, beautiful 18 th century home in located the heart of the historic district of Cambridge on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It is the perfect setting for a gathering of family and friends. The Stewart House is named for the Honorable James Augustus Stewart (1808-1879) who bought the house in 1848 and expanded it from the original home built in the late 1700’s by the William Murray family. Stewart was an important lawyer, politician, businessman, shipbuilder and judge.
