Historic Clear Creek Ranch has been a favored occupation site for hundreds of years. Dozens of metates (Indian corn grinders) drilled into the native stones speak to hundred of years of Native American occupation. Then in 1756 – 1758, Spaniards as part of their efforts to convert the Indians, harnessed the bountiful flow of the Clear Creek Spring (approximately 10 million gallons per day) to irrigate the farms feeding the missionaries and soldiers at Santa Cruz de San Saba. Today, Clear Creek Ranch is the epitome of Texas Hill Country ambiance with an exquisite German-inspired stone lodge nestled on 1,000 acres beside a private, spring fed lake. The lodge is much more than a hunting/fishing cabin with 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a large kitchen, and extensive veranda. It has spacious living and dining areas – all with beautiful views through a well-maintained, shaded yard to the pristine lake.
