Southern Serenity is located 2.5 miles down a dirt/gravel road that can be a bit rough. We are nestled inside the Bankhead National Forrest on 110ft of cleared shoreline on a secluded cove of Smith Lake. We are on seasonal water, which means from the months of mid September through early March, the water level in our cove drops down to a mud bottom. Mid March, the spring rain and the dam starts filling. If you want to take a boat/kayaks out during this time, you will have to drive about 15 minutes down the road to the public landing to launch.
