This idyllic cabin, known locally as "The Gingerbread House" for its quaint appearance, was originally built as a lodge for guests of the Park Saddle Horse Company on the -X6 Ranch during the heyday of travel by horseback. Newspapers stuffed into the cracks around the original windows put the date of construction at around 1938, which would make it the newest building on the ranch! The Park Saddle Horse Company was the sole concessionaire for travel in the park before widespread use of the automobile, and the -X6 was renowned as the largest horse ranch in the world with over 2,000 head and20,000acres.
