About This House
The original 12’ x 33’ section was a “Fish House” in Strawbery Banke & Prescott Park in the 18th century and was moved to its current location in 1820. We carefully doubled the size of the house while maintaining the character and integrity of the original building. All the door hardware, nails in the floorboards, coat racks, fireplace tools, goose necks and handrails were made by a local blacksmith. The wide pine, hand-hewn boards that dress out the living room belonged to our builder’s Great Grandfather.
