***All New Mattresses installed March 2022*** Thornton Estate, established in 1664, is a quintessential Eastern Shore estate. The magnificent manor house anchors the 325 acre preserved farm outside of Chestertown Maryland. Lord Baltimore granted the original patent for Thornton from colonial lands he received from King Charles I of England in the early 17th century. Conveyed to Philip Hopkins in 1693 the estate is still owned by his direct descendants. The current manor house — built in 1815 — was fully renovated in 2008.
