About This Loft

Welcome to the Historic Higgins Building, Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #873! Originally built in 1910 by Thomas Higgins, a copper tycoon, it housed the first power plant west of the Mississippi River. This gorgeous building has been maintained, continually restored. From the lobby to the units, this building has high ceilings, large original zinc windows and doors, iron caged elevators which were rebuilt in birds eye maple, and a mix of tile and concrete polished floors. Renovations, including fresh paint, have just been completed on the exterior. The basement houses the 1920's, copper drenched iconic Edison Bar.
